Vetiver is a perennial grass native to India and is popularly called as khus or Khus Khus. It grows up 1.5 mts in height, stems are tall & leaves are long, flowers are brownish purple; roots grow downward and are finely structured. vetiver propagates itself by small offsets. Vetiver plant helps to stabilize soil & protects against soil erosion. Vetiver is used in manufacturing of perfumes, creams & soaps.

EXTRACTION
Vetiver oil is obtained by steam distillation of the aromatic roots of vetiver grass.

PROPERTIES
It is viscous amber colored oil & its odor is woody.

COMPONENTS
The main chemical components are benzoic acid, vetiverol, furfurol, and b-vetivone, vetivene and vetivenyl vetivenate.

BLENDING
It blends well with grapefruit, jasmine, lavender & Ylang Ylang oil.
