Carrots are biennial, flowering in second year of growth. Carrots develop umbels which provide seeds. Seeds are not true seeds but are dry fruits called schizocarps. Carrot grows in the ground and at the end of carrot; leaves grow which produces flowers & then seeds. Seeds are brown in color.

It has a wooden earthy sweet smell & is yellow or amber colored to palr orange brown in appearance.
The major chemical constituents of carrot seed oil comprise a-pinene, geranyl acetate, sabinene, b-bisabolene, camphene, myrcene, b-pinene, y-terpinene, limonene, and carotol.
It blends well with Bergamot, Juniper, Cedarwood, Citrus & spicy oils.
